A walk at dusk down the Old Peak Rd in Hong Kong with my daughter resulted in this series of paintings. The treelined path down the hill was almost familiar from the drawings made for Wood, Pool and River, but slowly the vast megalopolis revealed itself.

Back in Wales I am left with a memory of the normality of the treelined old road, combined with the extraordinary complexity of tower blocks and skyscrapers replicating into infinity. The few lit windows indicating only an infinitesimal idea of the number of people in this city of millions.
